As the saying goes: You can take the boy out of the brothel, but you can't quite take the brothel out of the boy.
... Or. You know. That would at least explain what Puck is doing in one when he's supposed to be finding the portal that will get him (and Duo, and River) back to Laini.
Get off his case, he'll be right back. This place just looks a lot more interesting than the market streets he just left. Puck ducks inside, brushing his way through a heavy beaded curtain, and takes a look around.
It is, on the whole, not too different from other such establishments he has had occasion to investigate-- save for the fact that only a very, very small percentage of the clientele and employees are what one might consider human. The only light comes from colorful paper lanterns and candles, and the furnishings were once rich but have by now grown rather shabby. Puck sticks his hands in his pockets and makes his way unobtrusively towards a dim corner.
We repeat: He will totally be right back.
