Tsuki no Koibito ratings are falling...

Hi there ^^

I was quite surprised that Tsuki no Koibito's 3rd episode got a rating of 15,6%. Sincerely I was expecting more. Did they have a baseball match or some sports event? The 2nd episode had a rating of 19,2 (still high) but the 3rd one fell quite hard. And this is not normal for a Captain's drama (or I think so). Mr Brain also had the same " ( Read more... )

I was speculating the same thing on the Channel SMAP forum about them not wanting to see Kimura as a "bad guy" like in SoraKara, but it's definitely also possible that they don't like LCL and/or want more screen time for Ryoko and Keiko. I was pretty baffled by the ratings and was hoping it was just a typo, but alas, no ( ... )

I agree with you about the "bad guys" protagonists. The typical hero is quite easy to act and most of the people love them, but the cold/harsh/bad guy character is harder and that's how we distinguish the good actors and the normal actors (of course Captain is in the 1st category... xD).

I must confess that the plot is starting to get boring for me. It looks like a normal romance. I miss the adrenaline in SoraKara (well, the plot was different too, but I loved that drama) but I'll keep watching it. Maybe the ending will surprise me... xD

And sorry for not answering sooner but I was without net these last days.

I support a "bad guy" theory. And I like that Kimura-san doesn't afraid to play such unpleasnt guys as Rensuke. So far (Ive seen only two episodes) I can't like Rensuke because he acted as as a$$hole all the time, but I'm really curious about this character ant his further development. But may be general Japanese viewers have different opinion on this subject. :)
Also "Tsuki" is obviously not a usual "love drama" that ppl in Japan may be expected.

Also may be in Japan they don't like that Chinese Lin Chi Ling in fact was a female lead in first couple of episodes? I'm not sure her leading role will continue like that, something tells me that at the end the leading lady will be Shinohara... But who knows.

Ren is quite awful but in the last episodes he looked so lonely. Those eyes... Captain has such an expressive eyes.
Maybe the japaneses were expecting some romance like the one in Long Vacation or Love Generation, but I prefer it this way. And I hope that Maemi will end up being the leading lady. She's such a great person (and Shinohara-san acting is very good).

Yeah, Ren-san sometimes (when he's not acting like son of a bitch) looks like lone and lost puppy. :) And I loved "Wanske" scene from the 4th episode. :)

I like the Tsuki story. For me it is very interesting and intriguing. I can't predict what will go on.

BTW, honestly I think that Maemi already, from the 1st ep. IS the leading person of this series. She, not even Rensuke. For me this is the story of her love to Ren. We see everything through her eyes and her opinions.

I like all the actors of the Tsuki series so far except Kitagawa. Keiko is not so bad, but comparing to other two Tsuki ladies she is playing her role a bit unnaturally and overacts quite often. But I like Shinohara and Lin Chi Ling very much.

I thought Ren was trying to say something like "I love you" but "My name's not Wansuke" came out... xD
Wansuke is not bad at all... xD

Well, the plot is not my favourite. I just don't believe in love at first sigh, so I'm always thinking why Ren likes Xu Mei so much. And she wanting revenge is an act of weakness. But this last episode she was more caring and Ren smiled a lot more. ^^

In my opinion, Kitagawa and Lin Chi Ling needs more experience. Shinohara-san just overshadows them.

But I'm excited for the next episode. And my mother too. She's always asking: "Episode 5 is out already?" xD

Me three! As much as I love "Sora Kara", it was considered a pretty bad rated Kimura drama for its time. And "Gift" (which is totally my cult favourite. Hehe...), which explored a different concept also was pretty bad ratings wise. So, it might be simply because of different expectations ( ... )

Gift was so GOOD!! I loved it. Captain + suits + long hair + innocent boy vs. bad boy + everything else = awesomeness... xD
I really like seeing Kimura as a bad guy. He's already great doing typical hero roles (Pride, Good Luck, Engine) but he shines in darker roles like in Karei Naru Ichizoku (not the bad guy but a more serious storyline) and SoraKara ^^

I don't care much about ratings too, but I thought it would be a little higher.
