Finally watched the whole episode in a very decent quality. Guess I'll just post some screencaps and my theories. You're very welcomed to share your ideas with me. You know, discussing dramas is a really NICE hobby... :P

i just watch it last night!!! XD really nice drama, it's like watching a movie with 90 minutes length. lol

okay, this gonna be a long comment. bear with me. XD
love all the cast. especially... Sakai Masato probably the best character in here. Yamamoto who look so cute! (love his hair!!!). Ogata Naoto does have great chemistry with Kimura (he's just enter my list of fav ikemen ojisan ;p) i'm amaze at Ashida Mana act, is she really 6 years old? :D. The dog! is truly steal the show!! so cuteeee, my favorite is Kuma. He's really big and look hugable. XD

And finally Captain!!! Can i just say i'm drooling watching the drama, he look so handsome in here. >___< especially in the beginning, the bath, dogs scene and the ending

I'm still getting used to Sakai-san. Not that I don't like his character it's just that I need more from his past with Kuramochi to have a better judgement... :P

My favourite dog(s) so far are Jiro and Taro. They're gorgeous and absolutely great dog actors... xDD

Actually I think it's Miyuki who rejected her partner in the arranged marriage, after she heard that Kuramochi wouldn't go to the Antartica. Maybe I'm just one of a few people who enjoy Kimura-Haruka pairing. Well, tbh, I don't pay much attention to what-so-called "chemistry", cause I think the chemistry has much things to do with the plot and the characters :p That's why I do love the small intense between Kuramochi and Miyuki, who is his sister-in-law. The way he ran to her house after knowing that she attended an arranged marriage, and the way he gazed at her back is really something impressing me so much. And also the way Miyuki reluctant about her arranged marriage is also showing how she feels about her brother-in-law.

Overall, the first episode is good, making me cry even though I was just doing timing (meaning listening to the voice only) lol But I watched it after that. It's good and almost perfect.

I'm so envy of you being able to understand just by listening to them. I must see it in order to understand. Guess the images complements my tiny japanese knowledge... haha

The chemistry thing, I guess it depends on the people. In Sora Kara, Kimura and Fukatsu Eri gave sparkles the moment they appeared together. In Engine, no matter how hard the two main leads tried, Koyuki felt like a stranger next to kimura.. :P

I like Ayase Haruka and Kimura together but I still can't see them romantically involved. The feeling they give me is of two good siblings/friends.

Now, after watching the second episode (which by the way is nerve wrecking) I can be more sure of Miyuki's feelings.

Great review @Pu! You never disappoint:) I'm totally in love w/ the dogs.. I especially love Riki he is so regal. Its already depressing that we know which dogs survived in reality but I hope the drama changed it a bit for most of the dogs to be rescued at the end..

As for the relationship between KT & Ayase, you can see something there.. The scene where KT's face showed pure saddness when Ayase didnt show at the pier and the joy on his face when she came pegging down w/ the kids and waving bye bye to him, you know he has some sort of feelings for her.. I hope thats as far as it would go w/ the "love" situation between the two of them!

Now, to watch ep. 2 w/o subs....
