Ptyx's Polls Page

Dec 27, 2006 08:03

I've just added a Polls Page to my site. I'm launching it with a poll in which I ask you what's your favourite fic amongst all that I posted on my site (including all pairings, genres and sizes. I've grouped the series and the prequels/sequels together, though ( Read more... )

Have voted and commented.

Damn you, you made me re-read Just Sex. Blast. *wants to read it again*

:D

I'm not sure I've read everything on your site, but I've read most of it, so I think it's a pretty informed decision. ;-)

Did you have a good Christmas break?

Thanks for your vote and comment! It seems "Just Sex" has loyal fans.

Christmas was nice. But I won't relax until I finish this damn book!

Oh, there must be a way! Can't you toss a coin? ;-) Or maybe vote for a fic you like but that wasn't voted for?

This is very difficult! I voted for Mandala-verse, but since you want to know what we like to read, I thought I'd comment on what I like to read.

I like long, detailed stories, and stories that connect within the same universe. Still, I do like a concrete beginning and end. I tend to stop when they are past novel length (600+ pages in Word, for example.)

I only read Snarry, although everyone's been raving about the Spice Series. I find I get discombobulated when I venture outside my OTP. ;)

I don't care if they go AU. I do love new spells, magic use, and behaviors that seem consistent with canon, but slash is inherently not canon, so I'm not really picky. I tend to avoid first person.

There you have it! That's what I tend to find as common elements in my favorite fics. Does it help?

Oh, thanks for your comment. It helps, of course. And I know that many people share your preferences. But I was more curious than asking for help. I can't possibly write having my readers' preferences in mind. That's something that I don't know how to do. I have to follow my Muse, and I never know where she's going ;-).

Oh, I didn't assume you'd write for my silly preferences! I just meant to ask if it helped your curiosity, of course. ;)

Oh no, preferences are never silly! I'd like to explain my position better, but that would require a very tldr; post... which is exactly what I'm planning to write for my tomorrow post, in which I'll talk about the poll results so far. So I'd like to ask you to read my post... tomorrow ♥

Eventually voted, but it has been a terribly hard choice. Had to re-read several of your stories and I'm not yet sure, I really found my absolute favorite. *Sigh* There are so many stories, I adore! (How could you ask this of your fans?)

Hee, you're not the only one to complain. I wish I could have posted a "ticky boxes" and not a "radio button" poll, but the script I found didn't have that option. ("Ticky boxes" allow for more than one option, while "radio buttons" don't.) I myself wouldn't know how to vote!

Thank you, hon! I'm glad that so many of my fics are being voted. I like to think that every story has a reader!
