Pick up your Snarry

Hey, I was wondering... If you still love Snarry, if you still want to read Snarry stories, what kind of stories you want to read now? (I'm not offering to write those stories, I'm just curious.) Please, don't let other people decide for you. I know there are things that people consider "cool", but that's not what I want to know... I want to know ( Read more... )

I want--and rarely seem to find--stories where Harry and Severus's relationship EVOLVES . . . None of this "I seekritly burn for you" crap that seems so prevalent and is so, so, SO painfully OOC.

They're hard to write and do well, so very few people do it. I think it's easier to invent buried emotions and the prevalence of the plot device is frustrating.

And yet some of the fics considered as the best have this premise... (Like the "Tea Series", by Telanu.)

I sort of share your preferences, but I've been writing fics where their relationship *evolves* since my first Snarry fic, and I'm a little tired of writing the same thing over and over again.

I spose I want to read well-written, credible, plotty post-HPB Snarry. And there probably is some out there - I haven't been actively hunting it down.

(if that's not specific enough, let me know - I'll have a further think and come back to you!)

I mostly want to read stories that are HBP-compliant, immediately following Book 6 or post-war. I tend to favor one-shots over WIPs. I'd like the mutual hate to be there in the beginning, followed by some realization/discovery of love; their attraction for each other has to make sense. The ending doesn't have to be happy, but I always want some trace of hope to remain. (But if I started reading a really good story that's heading toward non-hope, I'll probably still finish and enjoy it.)

Plot-wise, anything goes, as long as nothing's there gratuitously. So no random Death Eater orgy featuring Snape and Harry for me.

Oh and a witty, funny Snarry parody or crack!fic is always welcome on my reading list ;)

:) My lj-friends seem to like plotty stories! I wonder why pornish_pixies is such a success, though.

*sighs* I sort of share your preferences, but I've been writing fics where their relationship evolves since my first Snarry fic, and I'm a little tired of writing the same thing over and over again.

I want (geesh, I sound like a two year old) a nice plot driven, angsty, hurt/comfort, romance, with no main character deaths. Although I love a good Master/sub fic too. Just no deaths and a cohesive plot will usually get me reading.

Thanx for asking, ptyx
Take Care
