Fuzzy killing machines, rodent pee and gustatory excess

Ladies and gentlemen, that headline perfectly encapsulates my weekend. This weekend was a real push to get some basic garden issues sorted out before the growing season turned everything into impenetrable thickets. One of the blessings/curses of the country property is that at some point a prior owner tore down and replaced the chimneys. The old ( Read more... )

They are quite cute, and I am quite fond of them. But their numbers have gotten to be so high around the house I am afraid of them invading and doing damage. It is time for some serious predation to take place and reduce their numbers!

I want all but about three of them killed off - three is enough for the morning cute; more than that is just excess.

And they are such PLUMP chipmunks, I am sure their nests are just stuffed with young right now.

Beef Wellington, bwahahahaha!

Our version of said dignity, health, and weight awareness that same night was beer boiled chili cheese dogs (two each) and fries. Mit sauerkraut fur mich, I think that is with sauerkraut for me. Home made though, so not super bad.

Sounds delicious! And homemade isn't as bad, per se, but you are still going to hell :)

Atheists don't go to hell, so there.

This weekend was chock-a-block with physical activity (a long-ass vball tourney on Saturday and the 10k AIDSWalk yesterday), so I think even with the food nasties I perpetrated upon my gut I still came out ahead of the game.

I hope you washed your hands before eating!! Plus you're more likely to get the Hanta Virus from rodent fecal matter than ebola ;)

Eh, if I am going to die horribly of some bizarre communicable disease, let it be one that will truly terrify everyone in the region :)

hey the hanta virus is pretty scary. it killed a bunch of people when it first appeared in new mexico or wherever before they could figure out what it was!

I am so not Sondheim knowledgeable ...

Aside from seeing him in leather bars all the time during my youth.

Recycled bricks are good. We've used nothing but recycled brick for our sidewalk and what not around the former crackhouse. I'm all about free.

And kill the chipmunks. They won't mess up the house, but they can muck about with lots of other stuff underground. Depends on how you get your water. I don't know how many times I've almost twisted an ankle, not watching where I walked back in the day.

Got a spare truck? I have enough recycled brick left in mounds around the property to build a small house :)

I think the chipmunk plague will abate soon. They don't seem very cautious, and I think the predators will thin the herd soon. If not, then my cats will.

Sunday was a truly nasty massacre.
