Drivers on the east side, which is the only side I can speak of, are all courteous in general. This is not to say that they are good drivers, just that they are polite.
We probably have the same amount of bad drivers as anywhere else. It's not so much bad drivers that piss me off, it's ones that are oblivious :P
I've written tonnes of notes on the great WA. The drivers are worse than in the UK but better than in singapore. They don't give way, undertake, tailgate, leap into tiny spaces and cut into your lane when you are trying to maintain a safe driving distance. And they use their horn generously (not like in China, but that is the same in all developing countries. In singapore they had an 'don't use your horn' campaign in the 80s which stomped out the practice)
