Kind of a re-intro?

[ In the library, sits a man in his early thirties, in a rumpled suit. He doesn't look like he's gotten much sleep lately. He's surrounded by small piles of books, and has another open in front of him. But he's not really reading, more staring in front of him with a distant expression. Angsting. Possibly even brooding ( Read more... )

I must sleep soon, but... TAGGING FIRST. kleine_kraehe September 2 2009, 04:17:27 UTC
[ A little girl peers at him curiously from behind a towering bookcase. ]

You are too good to me. ;_; herr_dr_fakir September 2 2009, 04:21:42 UTC
[ Gradually becomes aware of her. He looks up, a little startled, but smiles when he sees the girl. ...Who looks a little like Eva, this place is so weird. ]

[ Her mahogany colored eyes widen.

Wow! A Fahkir that smiled! The other ones sure didn't...

Emboldened by the warm expression, she wanders closer. ]

Um--hello! Are you a Fahkir too?

[ The smile stays, but turns smaller, becoming embarrassed and a little wry. He doesn't think that you can ever get used to be called "a" you. ]

Yeah, I am.

Not to spring an impromptu patient on you, Doc, but ... here. queruloussoul September 2 2009, 04:30:22 UTC
[[Technician Fakir enters the library. He's almost out of paper, and most of his charcoals are run down, so he figures it's about time he restocked.

His left arm is still in the sling put on him by the nurse ghosts in the infirmary, and he's more than a little antsy. It's been too long since he was able to fight, and he knows it's going to be a pain working himself back up to what he was before he got this temporary handicap.

He doesn't notice his older double.]]

[ Kenzo starts at the sound of someone else coming in, interrupted in his contemplation. And he's jerked out of it completely when he sees that the boy is injured. The awkwardness that comes from encountering doubles is quire overpowered by the need to help any patients and potential patients. ]

Are you alright?

[[Fakir startles at the inquiry, and looks over at his double. His eyes widen.]]

Is ... that what I'll look like if I live to be forty?

[[He blinks, getting over his shock, and his expression returns to a more neutral one. The honest answer to that question is probably "no," but that's for a myriad of reasons, and Fakir doesn't see why this guy feels the need to ask anyway.]]

Eh?

[[Then he remembers the sling, and inwardly curses himself for almost getting used to it. It hasn't been that long.]]

Oh, this. [[He gestures to his left arm.]] It's fine. Not like it's forever.

[ Kenzo's manner is all professional concern. ] What happened?

[[The vampire went to the library to find something to read. She's been picking up books lately, learning to appreciate what literature had to offer.

So she blinks in surprise to find another Fakir, looking rather sullen. He's older than the rest of them...

Ahiru approaches, tilting her head. It's a good thing she fed from the werewolf, otherwise being around a human would be dangerous...]]

Are you all right?

I'm fine. [ If he is, he's not too convincing at saying so. ]

...Umm...what are you reading?

[ Kenzo looks down at the book, and then back up at the girl. Did she go by Duck or Ahiru, he wonders. ]

I think it's a ghost story. [ Not much use. Just like the other books he's looked at so far. ]

*The heartless princess, bandages around her feet where they were still bruised from having been stuffed in shoes that had grown too small for her, had been on her way up to see the vampire Ahiru when she passes by the library where she'd met the Fakir that knew the duchess named Tutu. When she passes by, however, she sees a bit of dark green hair: a Fakir? She backtracks, stepping backwards to look inside; the Fakir was older than most of the others... After a moment she remembers that she'd met him: that was the one she'd bumped into and called her "Duck", right? Ahiru moves into the room as if about to skip over to him, being careful to pick up the skirt of her dress so she doesn't trip.* Other-Fakir?

[ Kenzo starts at first, but relaxes when he realizes who is speaking. The Du-, no she preferred Ahiru, right, the one who seemed like maybe she had never recovered from shock. He doesn't mind being called "Other-Fakir," if it's by her. ]

Ahiru. [ He doesn't manage a smile, but his tone is calm and a little warm. ]

*Ahiru stops in front of the other Fakir in a semi-abrupt manner that makes her upper body rock forward and then back straight again like some kind of a see-saw. Her eyes then move over the books on the floor around him with Curiosity, up at him.* What are you reading, Other-Fakir?

[ For a moment he tenses, afraid that she'll fall over. But it appears she has a little more control than to allow that.

He looks down at the book. ] I think it's a ghost story. [ And closes it. ]
