"He seemed proud of what he knew, but in a way that showed he wished to fill her up with his knowledge, rather than to preserve a distance. It seemed he believed that it was the only currency he possessed that he could barter with. He appeared to give everything to her first, as if he could only feel his world through her."

This sums up the Doctor's relationship to Rose so well...

This is the strangestly (ignore the lack of actual word, please) true perspective on their relationship I've ever seen. /grins like Rose, tongue-in-teeth/ So cute...

Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

In keeping with the prompt, I just tried to distill a basic essence of Ten/Rose from second season--details I love about their characters and how they interact. I'm happy that it seems to have hit its mark with people!

This was just charming - such a soft, sweet atmosphere and I loved seing the two of them through somebody else's eyes. Just gorgeous.

Thanks so much for this! I love the 'courious'-banter in the beginning, so like Rose and Ten to try and outwit each other, with her 'tapping out' and teasing him about being smarter anyways, him egging her on even more. And I really love the analysis "It was she that led him". Thank you for this... Most of all I want to invite the old shop keeper to a glass of Merlot now and listen to him telling me about his life. You made him so real and yet in the story his function is merely to observe and analyze... Wonderfully done!

Thank you!!
I wanted to do something that showed their relationship from the outside and what others might notice. We ourselves see these curious little vignettes in the people we come across every day--some people are interesting, some are funny and make us smile, and some we'd never want to trade shoes with. Oftentimes in just a few seconds we can see a lot about a relationship and while we can't understand all their inside jokes, the way they are with each other makes us wish we could. The Doctor and Rose have such a relationship, and that's what I was aiming at.

That was profoundly lovely. I adored looking at the Doctor and Rose from an outsiders perspective. It was just gorgeously written and it rang so true. I loved it!
