Ahh, "arcology!" I'm afraid I can't take credit for that one--which reminds me, my reference notes never made it on the post (will have to fix later). Back in 2000 I went to AZ and ended up visiting this place called Arcosanti--a ecological Utopia project being slowly built in the high deserts of AZ. This is where Twelve and Ten end up. They even have an apse (but I added the blue). They also make beautiful bronze bells in their foundry (yes, in said apse). But alas, they have not built a gigantic replica of the TARDIS using a shitload of bells--would that they did!
Ye Gods, but did I do a lot of research on this! Not only Arcosanti and apses, but foundries and bronze casting!! Oh yeah--AND Appian Way!! Now I can add those things to the list of junk I've looked up in my fic efforts, along with finding youtube vids of three legged dogs and cats... o_O
