Night seen

The Moon is full. The night sky's light and the cattle are rattled. Sounds abound, silhouetted against peaceful stillness. Our stream, ever moving but always there, protrudes its urgency. Far off owls call, echoing off shadowed trees. Wind stirs, urgefully lazy, and caresses treetops.

Aww, I wish we lived out in the country. Not practical for work, I'd hate to commute (and would need to invest ina reliable car!) and since Ian can't drive it makes for a non-starter at the moment! But will be nice in a few years to move somewhere nice and pretty!!

:)

You are welcome!!!

The thing that always strikes me when I'm in the country is that I can see the stars! Its amazing how used to never seeing the stars one gets, living in the city. Its almost a shock to see them when we venture away!

Even here, away from the light pollution of major connurbations we see next to nothing compared to what I've seen a) from a yacht in the Mediterranean and b) when camping high on a remote mountain range in Australia. Both those times the night sky has been crowded with stars that seem so close I've felt as if they're just out of arm's reach.
