Last night the Boat presented Gilles Peterson, London-based founding father of acid jazz. The performance of this over-fourty BBC man was a delight in itself - I have never seen a DJ use the disks and the decks as instruments (forget John B and the rest), but Peterson did. He really created new, fresh and living music out of some records on vinyl
