Is it better to have trust issues and be paranoid, in which case you usually find out who a person REALLY is, you always know when someone is playing you for stupid, and in the end you are prepared for heartache ( Read more... )

In my personal experience, it's better to just always be on your guard. It sucks ass that it should be that way, but these days, you just never fucking know people like you think you do...

I love this question as it is what I am dealing with. Truth is though I was paranoid someone was playing me for stupid and then turned out they weren't so I hurt them and did not mean to. Guess it is one of those things no one can be sure about but you have to do what is best for you.

I think I still prefer the whole be prepared for the pain to move on later than be blissfully stupid and stomped on in the end.
