He sounds and reads like a fuckwit. Kyoto-ben does not work that way. Go read some anon memes and try again.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about Kyoto-ben, and I guess at the accent - so you're probably right and I'm doing it all wrong. I'd rather not try and get tips from the anon meme, as there are so many different opinions and it would be hard to filter out which ones to listen to.

Perhaps you can link me to some articles or something on Kyoto-ben? I'm more than willing to change, I just need a few pointers. Thanks.

You are the one who is supposed to be playing as him. You can jolly well do your own research. One thing to note is that his current "manner of speaking" is like that of an idiot, something associated with the Kansai region, specifically Osaka. Kyoto-ben, however, tends to be associated with poshness.
