They're his brainchild. I just helped with building.

They do sound nice.

Physical Specs (for individual)
8 x 4" driver in the array.
1 x 6.5" woofer

Front panel measures 52.5" tall + 1.5" port + 0.75" base
Exterior Box measures 13.5" W x 16.5" D x 13.75" H

The wood is actually from the same stock that we got for the original gigantic speakers. Most of it was cut on my back patio. Only the speaker holes were cut at Dave's house using a drill-press and hole saw.

Pictured above is one half of a speaker pair. You can see the two sitting side by side (prior to final build) in the picture gallery on the back porch after I had applied the stain to the wood.

They are intended to operate as main speakers (for an as-yet-to-be-determined individual or individuals). These will not be a permanent fixture in my house even though I do appreciate them. More details on this later...

As far as when the insanity stops, just wait and see. We're already designing the next ones to complement a specific piece of audio equipment. Seriously, what's the fun in building cool stuff if it doesn't cross the line?
