Introduction and Rules
Welcome to Psychland!
Following in the tradition of other -land communties, Psychland is a place for fans to have fun and share their love of Psych by participating in various contests, games, and other activities. Community members will be assigned to one of four teams. Members earn points for their team by participating in challenges.
There will be different kinds of challenges, so we encourage you to enter as many as you can. Not everyone can do everything, but the more you do, the more you'll get out of the community, and the more points your team will get.
So what exactly goes on around here?
1. Games, including word games, trivia, random luck games, and more.
2. Writing, from drabbles to longer fic and everything in between.
3. Graphics, like icons, banners, wallpapers, and other kinds of art.
4. Gifts, to spread the love and make each others' days brighter.
5. Socializing, within your team and with the whole community. Make friends, goof off, chat, and generally have fun with other Psych fans.
Rules
1. To apply to the community, you must be at least 13 years old and have a journal that's at least a month old and shows sign of use.
2. This community is for purposes outlined above, not for posting about unrelated topics or advertising fanfic/icons/other communities.
3. Please, please, please keep your posts/challenges submissions/comments easy to read. Weird typing, typing in all caps, eye-searing font colors, and really atrocious grammar and spelling are not welcome.
4. Keep things clean - aim for around a PG-13 rating at most. This goes for general posts/comments and for challenge entries.
5. No bashing characters, ships, other community members, or other teams. You don't have to like everything and everyone, but you do have to be polite about it.
6. Don't cheat on challenges. What's the fun in that?
7. Don't post any spoilers for new episodes until a week after they've aired.
8. Entries for writing and graphics challenges must be new - no submitting that fic that you posted last year, even if it perfectly matches the challenges guidelines. Also, don't post anything you create for a challenge anywhere else before the challenge participants have been revealed.
9. Participate, participate, participate! If you don't think you'll be able to do at least one challenge a week, don't apply. If something comes up and you temporarily won't be able to participate, let us know ahead of time.
10. The mods reserve the right to remove people from the community for breaking the rules. We will not use this power lightly, but we will use it if we have to. If you get a warning about something you're doing that you shouldn't be, pay attention.
Who are these big bad mods?
nowgold and shinealightonme will be your mods for the foreseeable future. We are not assigned to a team, so if you have a question, feel free to ask us!
You also have a team leader, so feel free to take questions or problems to them, too.
Other comms?
For the moment, we're keeping all point-earning challenges in the main community. As the community picks up, we may have separate comms for separate kinds of challenges. For now, there is only psychland for challenges and general announcements and plbeach for all-comm socializing.
How do I join?
Go to this post. Fill out the questions; there aren't many of them, it shouldn't take long. Where it says "Wait for it...", put a favorite quote from the show. It cannot be the same quote that someone else used in their sign-up. This is to prove that you have read the rules.
