After going to class and springing Dean from the clinic, Sam came back to his room to start researching. As much as he was trying to not think about what the demon had said to him, there was something that had stuck out in a not-entirely negative way - that there were others like him being watched by the demon too. Sam glanced at the door, and wondered if he could stay quiet enough that whoever was there would leave.

Then Scout barked and sniffed at the door, and Sam sighed. "Come in."

Dawn hesitated at the door to her own room, but decided she'd spent enough time alone that day. For that matter, so had Sam.

She came in carrying a plate with a couple of sandwiches and a glass of milk, and left them on Sam's nightstand without comment before flopping onto her bed. She reached under her pillow for the book she'd been reading before all of this started. "Did you go out at all today?"

Sam watched Dawn as she came in, eying the sandwiches before turning to see her flop down. "Yeah, of course," he said. "I had to go to class, and I went to check on Dean. You didn't have to make me any food, you know."

"Who said it's for you?" She turned a page, not that she'd read the one she'd been on. "I could just be feeding the room gnomes or something. Dork, of course they're for you, and yeah, I did."

"I'm still not that hungry," Sam said. "And Dean's okay. We got him out of the clinic. But Alec left town again."
