Some people can't understand what Jo says whether it's in books or a written interview...

What part of "none of her invented Harry Potter locations were based on actual places in the real world" isn't being understood by some people? The Forest of Dean? Not invented. And before Surrey, London, and King's Cross are mentioned, those aren't invented either. "Invented" locations would include Little Whinging, Ottery St. Catchpole, ( Read more... )

This is why I can't ever read the comments attached to news ... of any kind ... anymore. Not the comments on CNN, The Globe and Mail, and not even the Leaky Cauldron.

Because the stupid universally burns.

Was the same thing covered on those other, non-TLC venues? Or are you talking about previous wank?

No, sorry. I just mean whatever news story I happen to read, if I'm tempted to click the comments to see what other people have to say, it's gererally infuriating.

Clearly some people not only have a lot of time to over-analyze things, but in the meantime they've been failing basic reading comprehension.

It's Jo. We have to criticize her at every turn.

Next up: Jo wears white shoes. Before Labor Day.

And of course, in Britain they "think" Labor Day is May 1. (Hasn't anyone wanked about that yet?)

Oh let's. I wouldn't say that was strictly true, May 1 has been retconned as something close to labour day but beyond a couple of trade union marches in London most of us see it as just a spring holiday, pagan origins notwithstanding.

What's the white shoes thing about then?

I was being facetious. :D In the US, there's an old fashion dictum that you're not supposed to wear white (shoes but also other large pieces of clothing, not including shirts) AFTER (not before) Labor Day, the first Monday in September, which is supposed to signal the end of summer and therefore the appropriate period of time for wearing white. As you pointed out, "Labor Day" isn't even a "thing" in the UK, apart from the minor observances you mentioned.
