Is Mexican your favorite 'ethnic' cuisine? I love Mexican and the Oaxaca cheese sounds ahhhmazing. :-)

I read that Letter to a Christian Nation when I was in high school and was very shaken up by it. It really changed the way I thought about religion. Before that, I had been able to overlook more of the problematic aspects of public Christianity by telling myself I wasn't like that, but that's not enough. Any way, I need to read it again, but wanna talk about it when you finish?

Haha, it's funny to hear everyone here so torn over Vikings/Favre vs. Packers. Andrew doesn't know who to root for.

I wish I could take you to La Chimenea in my hometown. Best Mexican food I've ever had. I always order a portabello mushroom tortilla salad... ohhh. Cool sour cream and guacamole, pepperjack cheese, salsa, lettuce, green peppers, tomatoes, tortilla strips, and HOT mushrooms in a killer sauce.

Mm, sounds yummy! Minus, of course, the hot/spicy stuff...and the mushrooms and guacamole and pepperjack and green peppers....

I think I just subtracted half the ingredients! *LOL* I might have to stick with a taco salad or cheese enchiladas - I am a connoisseur of the simple stuff! XD.

It's not my very favorite, but I do love me some fabulous Mexican food. I can't do spicy, and some things just will never taste good to me, but I still love it. I think you'd love the Oaxaca cheese. It's very stringy like mozzarella, but way richer. SO good.

And yeah - I'll probably want to talk about the book when I'm done...will probably need to do so. I'm already sitting there going, "Well, wow. It's so thought out, and all I can do is say that I believe in God because I just do, and that doesn't seem good enough now." It's...disconcerting.

I bet it's as talked about there as it is here! I love listening to Beth, she's so hardcore against Favre now, and of course against the Vikings. *hee* It'll be fun - going over there soon.

I didn't know you were a supertaster!! Me too. How cool are we? : )
So you're a Vikings girl. *shakes head* Lucky I still like you. ; ) J/k, but I am a Packers girl and always have been.

OMG, you used my favorite flamethrower quote!! That's awesome.

Ahh, a kindred! Someone else who might just understand how - or at least why - I can't handle coffee, or why I must eat sweet and sour chicken by dipping it into the sauce sparingly rather than having the sauce slathered all over it...

I'm a Minnesota hometown girl, born and raised. The Vikes are my hometown team, just like the Twins, the Wild, the Timberwolves. I appreciate other teams here and there, but I'm a hometown girl first and foremost. *hee*

George Carlin FTW!!

YAY YOU STARTED GoT!!!! SQUEEEEE!!! /fangirl.

Okay they are pretty loaded and it is a lot of information to remember. Especially when they get into the backstory and the different Houses. There is an index in the back that will help remember characters and relations. Ask me if you have any questions. What are your thought so far?

grrm has a really intriguing way of writing that keeps you turning the pages. You fall in and out of love with characters and it's definitely a fun ride! Oh and Winter is Coming...

SEE YOU TONIGHT! I CAN'T WAIT! :D

, and maybe Dana, if he's feeling brave enough to risk his lovely wife's wrath...
LOL! He wore a Packer shirt to work today. I am only a little afraid for his life. If he dies he will be a martyr...:p

We have beer, chips and salsa, and chicken wings. Chantay is bringing something, but it is totally up to you if you want to bring something :)

Okay, better late than never, I'm catching up on all your LJ happenings. *lol*

Glad Mikey got his new glasses sorted. Did they come in time for picture day? And did you manage to order some back-up pairs online?

Can't wait to see his school photos. ^_^

Yay for starting GoT, I'm glad you're liking it so far. I'm now on the first chapter of the third book. I'll comment on your other thoughts as I get to the entries. ^_~

Sounds like you had a good time at Acapulco; I wish we had a decent Mexican place around here.

OMG ... blasphemy ... too much cheese? Is that even possible! *rotfl*

I found the supertaster thing really interesting.

Sounds like you had fun seeing the Toy Story double feature in 3D. And you're right, nothing beats movie theater popcorn.

Its nice just to chill out with family, isn't it. glad you had fun at Bunny and John's.

He's eleven years old; shouldn't he be past the "hates bathing" stage? Thoughts? No, I think that'd be fairly typical of an eleven year-old boy and is probably only going to get worse as he ( ... )

They came in the day before picture day, so yay there. We haven't ordered the backup pair yet, but we will soon.

IKR?!??!!! *LOL*

And you're right, nothing beats movie theater popcorn.

Word.

But then again, what do I know ... I have a six-year-old boy who loves bathing and cleaning his room! *lol*

I envy you! *rotfl*

American football seems a lot more interesting than English soccer.

Christ. ANYTHING'S better than soccer! Except maybe golf.

You wouldn't when he's getting in trouble at school for messing around in the toilets with the other boys. *rolleyes*

God, golf is so boring. Cricket sucks too, and I don't like Snooker. Yeah, basically, I don't like sports. *lol*
