Breaking Bad...News [closed to Gus]

Shawn, being Shawn, was up at a weird hour of the morning, tiptoeing ninja-like (complete with humming along to the Ninja Turtles theme song, and wouldn't that be fantastic if he ran into one of them today) through the hotel room he and Gus still shared. Gus on the other hand, needed his beauty sleep. He was still sleeping peacefully when he heard what sounded like an elephant come through the door, and he was up in an instant in his boxers taking up a karate pose.

It would've been easier if Shawn had shoved Gus into one of the wheely office chairs, but this would have to do. He dipped the chair backwards, continuing to lug Gus to the closet, the chair legs digging deep grooves into the carpet.

"I didn't think I'd ever say this, Gus, but I'd take Dad over what I have to show you."

He finally got the chair next to the closet, and set it back on four legs with a thunk. He bent over Gus a little, spreading his arm across Gus's shoulders and giving a steady squeeze. Then he shook out the newspaper with his other hand, slowly bringing it into view.

The headline hadn't changed since he read it a couple of minutes ago. A full page picture of Michael Jackson, circa the HIStory Tour, accompanied by these stark words: MICHAEL JACKSON DEAD AT AGE 50

"I'm sorry, man," Shawn whispered quietly, drawing his other arm around Gus, completing the hug circuit. "I'm really, really sorry..."
