It's interesting. After skimming through a magazine article on mao's cultural revolution, that they really did get a lot of the children to do their biddings before they were able to ram it down the throats of their elders. The problem with using political tactics these days is that they have diminishing returns. Too many people know how politics work, can't get ahead anyway, and are annoyed by the whole system. I mean it's the knowledge economy, most of the middle classes are in college and most of them still have debt and crappy jobs but it is still an asset economy ( Read more... )

It was more interesting to see the GOP unravel because it was newer, the Democrats have had troubles for years but I think they are going to recover faster and the Libertarians are a wild card. It's hard to tell and anyone who thinks they know the answer is lying, or a consultant.
