“I just wanted to hear you shout it above Animotion.” - Animotion is an American band from Los Angeles, California best known for their songs "Obsession", "Let Him Go", "I Engineer", and "Room to Move". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIs5StN8J-0
“I love you more than Sid loved Nancy” - This is a reference to Sid Vicious, bassist for the Sex Pistols and Nancy Spungen, his girlfriend. Spungen and Vicious entered a destructive codependent relationship based on drug use. This culminated in Spungen's death from an apparent stab wound while staying in New York City's Hotel Chelsea with Vicious. Vicious was released on bail, but after another assault, went into drug rehab at Riker’s Island. Sid later died of an overdose just under four months later. A biopic was made in 1986 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZp3meyWVm0
“Oh, well, I love you more than Joanie loved Chachi, kids love Trix, and Bert loved Ernie, allegedly.” - Joanie Loves Chachi is an American television spin-off of the popular American sitcom Happy Days that was originally broadcast on ABC from March 23, 1982 to September 13, 1983. It stars Scott Baio and Erin Moran as the titular Chachi Arcola and Joanie Cunningham, respectively. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w13Vpt074Qc Trix is a brand of breakfast cereal made by General Mills in Minneapolis, Minnesota for the North American market and by Cereal Partners (using the Nestlé brand) elsewhere in the world. The cereal consists of fruit-flavored, sweetened, ground-corn pieces. They were originally spherical cereal pieces, but in 1991, were changed to puffed fruit-shaped pieces. In 2007, they reverted to their original shape in the United States. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npH1KPr32Gk Bert and Ernie are two Muppets who appear together in numerous skits on the popular U.S. children's television show Sesame Street. Originated by Frank Oz and Jim Henson, the characters are currently performed by Muppeteers Eric Jacobson and Steve Whitmire, with Oz performing Bert occasionally since 2000. Bert and Ernie live together in an apartment in the basement of 123 Sesame Street. Although they sleep in separate beds, they share a bedroom, which has led some to suggest that they are representations of gay lovers. (Which is why Juliet adds “allegedly”)
“They're gonna play Y.M.C.A. at some point.” - YMCA is a hit song recorded by American disco group Village People. It was released in 1978 as the only single from the album Cruisin'. The song reached No. 2 on the U.S. charts in early 1979 and reached No. 1 in the UK around the same time, becoming the group's biggest hit. It is one of fewer than forty singles to have sold 10 million (or more) physical copies worldwide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS9OO0S5w2k
“True or false-- you were expecting Erasure's cover ofTake A Chance On Me to be on the playlist.” - Erasure are an English synthpop duo, consisting of singer and songwriter Andy Bell and songwriter and keyboardist Vince Clarke. In 1992 they released the EP “ABBA-esque” covering 4 songs, one of which was “Take a Chance on Me” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSnLGdpjWf4
“That's a Long Island Iced Tea.” - A Long Island Iced Tea is a type of alcoholic mixed drink typically made with, among other ingredients, tequila, vodka, light rum, triple sec, and gin. It is so named because of the resemblance to the color and taste of iced tea (Camellia sinensis). A popular version mixes equal parts vodka, gin, tequila, rum, and triple sec with 1½ parts sour mix and a splash of cola, which gives the drink the same amber hue as its namesake.
“Kjellins?” - Alf Kjellin (28 February 1920 - 5 April 1988) was a Swedish film actor and director, who also appeared on some television shows. Kjellin was well established as a film actor when he occasionally took on roles in television shows. For example, in 1965 he prominently guest-starred as Stalag Luft Kommandant Colonel Max Richter in the two-part episode "P.O.W." (Episodes 30 and 31) of Twelve O'Clock High. He also directed the 1974 Columbo episodes Negative Reaction and Mind Over Mayhem and an episode of the 1976 series Sara. “I was thinking that I would go Costanza on her.” - George Costanza is a character in the American television sitcom Seinfeld (1989-1998), played by Jason Alexander. He has variously been described as a "short, stocky, slow-witted, bald man" (by Elaine Benes and Costanza himself), and "Lord of the Idiots" (by Costanza himself). I believe the “technique” they are alluding to is in “The Susie”, he deems it so important that he make a grand entrance at his work’s ball with his attractive girlfriend Allison that, upon finding out that she plans to break up with him, George goes to great lengths to avoid her before the ball, stating "If she can't find me, she can't break up with me.”
“Bowie knife will do that.” - A Bowie knife is a pattern of fixed-blade fighting knife first popularized by Jim Bowie in the early 19th century. Since the first incarnation was created by James Black, the Bowie knife has come to incorporate several recognizable and characteristic design features, although in common usage the term refers to any large sheath knife with a crossguard and a clip point.

“I'm sensing that Elin was your son's au pair?” - An au pair (plural: au pairs) is a domestic assistant from a foreign country working for, and living as part of, a host family. Typically, au pairs take on a share of the family's responsibility for childcare as well as some housework, and receive a monetary allowance for personal use. Au pair arrangements are subject to government restrictions which specify an age range usually from mid-late teens to mid to late twenties; some countries explicitly limit the arrangement to females. Arrangements differ between Europe, where the concept originated, and North America. In Europe, au pairs are only supposed to work part-time, and they often also study part-time, generally focusing on the language of the host country. In the United States, they are permitted to provide full-time childcare. In 1969, the European Agreement on Au Pair Placement was signed, and it came into force in 1971.
“But if you want to catch a crazy Swedish psychopath, you come to the King Carl, watering hole for Swedish expats.” - Carl XVI Gustaf (full name: Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus [ˈkɑːɭ ˈɡɵstɑːv ˈfɔlˌkɛ hɵbɛˈʈɵs], born 30 April 1946) is the King of Sweden. The King's heir apparent, upon passage on 1 January 1980 of a new law establishing absolute primogeniture (the first such law passed in European history), is Crown Princess Victoria, the eldest child of the King and his wife, Queen Silvia.
“It's the ladies' floorball championship between Sweden and Finland.” - Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five field players and a goalkeeper on each team. Men and women play indoors with 96-115.5 cm long sticks and a plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. Developed in the 1960s and 1970s in Sweden, floorball is most popular where it has been developed the longest, such as the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. It is gaining popularity in Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States. As of 2014, there are over 300,133 registered floorball players worldwide. Professional leagues include Finland's Salibandyliiga and Sweden's Svenska Superligan. The sport is organized internationally by the International Floorball Federation (IFF). Events include an annual Euro Floorball Cup for club teams and the biennial World Floorball Championships with separate divisions for men and women. While the IFF contains 58 members, the Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, and Switzerland have consistently placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at the World Floorball Championships. The sport is relatively new and therefore evolving. The basic rules were established in 1979 when the first floorball club in the world, Sala IBK, was founded in Sweden. Official rules for matches were first written down in 1981.

“Like Alcatraz.” - Alcatraz Island is located in the San Francisco Bay, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) offshore from San Francisco, California, United States. Often referred to as "The Rock", the small island was developed with facilities for a lighthouse, a military fortification, a military prison (1868), and a federal prison from 1933 until 1963. Beginning in November 1969, the island was occupied for more than 19 months by a group of aboriginal people from San Francisco who were part of a wave of Native activism across the nation with public protests through the 1970s.
