YOU! You're just who I need. At what point in the school year does Chad do his weird-ass, inexplicable Asking of Taylor to the prom? Am I right in thinking it was strangely early in the year?
also, skipping back to hsm 2, is that movie supposed to span the whole summer? As in, the party at the end of the movie implied the end of the summer? because it doesn't seem to cover nearly enough time for that...
HSM 3 takes place entirely in the last semester of Senior Year. It starts with the end of basketball season, which usually ends around February for a championship team like the Wildcats. So when you think about it, Chad's OTT prom proposal probably takes place in what? Late March or April? And there have been signs up about buying prom tickets since the first day shown in the film.
The flyers for the talent show in HSM 2 said "Midsummer Nights" which implies that it's earlier in the season than the end of summer. I generally assume it's around the end of June (becasue we didn't see the 4th of July, and that's a pretty huge summer event.)
They do make it hard to figure out time spans in those movies. I guess it's to keep reality from intruding too much, but it can be a pain.
thanks so much! okay, I'm not sure how I got it through my head that he asked her to the prom in, like, October, but that timeframe makes a lot more sense, even if it will make me rearrange a few things.
Really, though, you're great! I appreciate the info so much!
Yeah, they do make it hard to write about the movies as if they take place in actual high school.
