Hey, so Ryan Ross is very pretty, and I wish him the best in all of his endeavors, really, I do, so the fact that The Young Veins' new album got a pretty good review here makes me happy, theoretically. However, did the reviewer really have to get so snippy about Panic? ( I would be the first to admit that Panic at the Disco, exclamation point or no exclamation point, is a fairly flawed band. )

It bugs me, too. I hate how rude a lot of the reviewers are about the music they consider emo. Like, I was reading a review of Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley's current project, and the journalist kept acting like it was a shock thet they could play. Grrrr! *smacks lame music journalists*

seriously! It's not like getting in some jokes at panic's expense is really even all that on-topic! And it's all so dismissive. I don't know. It bugs me more than I would like it to.

solar_cat sent me here to friend you as part of the international skippy writers circle. :-P

And I have to add, that review annoyed me a little when I read it, too. Young Veins is awesome, but so was the original Panic stuff, and so was Pretty. Odd., and I'm sure future stuff will continue to be awesome, as well. They are just very, very different, and music reviewers should not need to put one down just to praise the other.

awww... that was sweet of her. When I saw your name come up on my email alerts, it took me a minute to place you as the person whose thread in that entry of hers I'd been eavesdropping on, so it's nice to hear from you.

I know, right? I know it's called musical criticism for a reason, but it would still make me happy if they could be a bit nicer (at least about people that I like).
