I enjoyed the episode too. I knew I would like Donna. I know there are some mixed reviews but I think the part is beautifully written so far.

I'm also really interested to see where the story arc for this season goes. I'm nervous, because well...I fell prey to the whims of Joss Whedon awhile back, but excited none the less.

So sayeth all of us who have come from the Whedonverse! LOL We're seriously hoping that Rusty isn't cut from the same cloth at Joss -- even if he decided to off a few main characters elsewhere.

Let's just pray that Joss hasn't been giving Rusty pointers. :)

I am warming up to Donna, she seems a little too naggy to me but her heart is in the right place.

To be honest, I think the Doctor needs someone who will nag him into doing the things he seems too reluctant/angsty to do.

The episode reminded me quite a lot of Adric's death.

Tegan: You could go back and save Adric!
Doctor: No I couldn't. Don't ask me to do that.
Tegan: Okay.

Donna makes the same point as Tegan and the Doctor makes the same argument but she nags him and pesters him and really forces home her point that while he can't save millions, he can at least save somebody. He might not be able/willing to alter history, but he can at least save one life.

Were I in Donna's position, I'd have probably made the same argument with the same determination.

I totally agree! Donna will keep him in line because she's not going to be mooning over him like the other two did. And she's not going to take any guff from him either.

Her little speech at the end begging him to save someone was awesome and exactly what Ten needed to hear.

Thanks for turning me on to DW, Missy.

Glad I could turn you to the dark side. The more the merrier, I say! Hee!

I adored the Spartacus bit :) so cute!
and the Doctor running around defending the planet with a little yellow water pistol was priceless and so Doctor Who.

They really did drop a lot of prophesy hints this episode! It will be interesting to see which ones continue and what comes of them.

Wasn't it though??? "That's not going to hurt!" "No, but I'm guessing it's going to sting a bit." Very well written and well performed.

There were a bunch of prophecy hints and I hear there are more to come in tomorrow's ep.
