Does anyone here know of an easy way to blend photos in banners/wallpapers or at least another way to do it? The only way I know how to blend is from the eraser tool, some of my banners don't look decent enough

I make blends for banners and wallpapers using two main methods. One is to actually CUT AROUND an image. Do do that, I go to Layers $gt; Promote Background Layer. Then I use the Freehand Selection Tool (bundled with the selection tools in your tool palette) set to Point to Point. I prefer not to use feathering or smoothing, but some people use these settings, too. Then I use the Zoom Tool to zoom way in so I can see what I'm doing. This is the essential step to make it easy on yourself!
Cutting around images is tedious -- there's no way around it. I tend to do it a chunk at a time. The only area you really need to do 'cleanly' is whatever is right around the edge. You can then take out large background chunks very easily... Sometimes the cut around look is what you want -- so it's worth the work involved ( ... )
