I'm assuming you've used our community MEMORIES and/or TAGS to find and do some of the tutorials located here -- correct? Even tutorials that don't deal specifically with making blends can often prove helpful...

I make blends for banners and wallpapers using two main methods. One is to actually CUT AROUND an image. Do do that, I go to Layers $gt; Promote Background Layer. Then I use the Freehand Selection Tool (bundled with the selection tools in your tool palette) set to Point to Point. I prefer not to use feathering or smoothing, but some people use these settings, too. Then I use the Zoom Tool to zoom way in so I can see what I'm doing. This is the essential step to make it easy on yourself!

Cutting around images is tedious -- there's no way around it. I tend to do it a chunk at a time. The only area you really need to do 'cleanly' is whatever is right around the edge. You can then take out large background chunks very easily... Sometimes the cut around look is what you want -- so it's worth the work involved ( ... )

Thank you! Charlie I'm going to try and see if I can figure out everything you've posted hopefully I can. My blending has got better, but not the best. Like I said some photos I can blend very well others (like bigger not the best quality photos I can't for some reason). I'm working on my blending a little bit each day, so that should help. I'll let you if I need anymore help. Thanks for all of the pointers.
