Getting rid of water spots (as drops of water left their mark)

Jun 23, 2007 09:42

I have Paint Shop Pro 7 and a lovely photograph that has a couple of small water spots on it where some droplets of water got on the picture. Unfortunately, these landed on the person's arm and the discoloration makes it look like she's scarred or has a skin disease. Is there any way to fix that?

Uh, try the clone tool and then retouch > blur. Set the opacity for the retouch around %60..just a starting point, adjust to your liking :]

I agree with cantdenyoureyes. I'd use the Clone Brush tool, for starters. You can adjust the size and Opacity. Try Hardness set to 0.

Depending on the photo in question, you might also try the Retouch tool set to Smudge (probably my favorite setting -- Soften being my second fave).

But it depends a lot on the original photo!

Oh! And sometimes you can effectively use the Scratch Remover tool. Play with the settings to get what works best for you.

I've used these very effectively on many photos...

Good luck!
