So far so good. They did a CT scan on Randy's father, and nothing showed up. The subjective symptoms (tingling, slurring of speech) may be easing. So the doctors are planning to keep him in the hospital overnight, but if nothing changes this may simply count as his second TIA.

my goodness. i certainly hope that everything progresses along this trajectory!

(however, if things change and you need someone to drive you to NYC on a friday night... sigh. well, you know the drill, just call. honestly, let me know. i'm free any time after about 5pm tomorrow.)

i bought a new cell phone, and so far i love it -- it was cheap, it's relatively simple to use, and it has amazing battery life (!). i switched companies -- i'm told that the customer service is among the best of the various companies (t mobile). let me know if you want more details...

Yeah, I had those memories too ... thank goodness it looks like we aren't in that sort of situation again.

re: phone: i *hate* doing this, this way, but: check out this link -- i'm honestly not sure if that's helpful to you or not, but it's all that i have to offer just at this moment :-). it's a link to the T Mobile web site page regarding the phone itself. this phone can only be purchased online, but it's still available. i'd be more than happy to let you see/play with/test mine sometime, and i really believe that's the way to go with these things.
