Notes: Response to challenge #275. Another response to the current challenge may be coming soon, as I don't like the overt fluffiness of this drabble.
It had been a long day for both the detective and the Count. Their respective professions regularly took heavy mental and physical tolls, but neither had found the willpower to say no to Chris's insistence on a movie marathon.
D was the first to become heavy eyed, listening to Morgan Freeman’s narrative. He yawned,, and his head drooped sideways, until it lolled against Leon’s side. The detective started to shake the Count awake irritably, but the subtle scent of incense that clung to D’s smooth skin was so soothing. Soon Leon was snoring, one arm draped around D’s shoulders.
Pon-Chan shut The March of the Penguins off and flicked on the lights. She giggled at the two adults asleep on the couch “Looks like it’s past their bedtimes!”
“Yeah” Chris nodded, bright eyed. “I’m going to get another soda and more Twizzlers from the kitchen. What movie should we watch next?”
