Oh, he's definitely in it. He's playing Hijikata Toshizou, the famous "Demon Vice-Commander" of the Shinsengumi, and his performance is quite commendable. I hope you like the show if you have a chance to watch it. The animation was quite pretty, and the plot surprisingly engaging. The first season ended at a fairly tense cliffhanger moment in the Shinsengumi's history (though, given that this story involves most of the cast transforming into vampiric zombies in order to fight a clan of demons, it's obviously not playing 100% by the history books), so I've been anxious for the second season for months.
