Got here from chuunin. This universe is so much fun! ^_^ I love how you've characterized Itachi. I think it's pretty accurate, considering the fact that he apparently was willing to give up everything canonically for Sasuke, that he'd exert so much time and energy to making sure Sasuke grew up hale and healthy here. I'm having a blast watching him automatically extend that care to Naruto, too. Kid likes his little brother? Needs someone to look after him? Itachi is on the job! :DD

Itachi is my beta reader's favorite character, so this whole universe is kind of a gift to her. Naruto is still going to connect with other members of the Rookie Nine in a somewhat similar fashion, as well as build relationships with Iruka, Jiraiya, Tsunade, and such (maybe even help Sasuke and Itachi connect more with other people), but the Uchiha boys will always be his number 1 (just like Sasuke should be, and Itachi would be given the chance).
