I've long thought that Common Sense was on the decline; this peice simply put into words eloquently feelings I've had all along.

There's a part of me that hopes that the family of Common Sense might someday be revived; if we choose to defy societal norms by taking personal responsibility and teaching those around us and who come behind us to do the same, maybe something useful can still be redeemed. Alas, in the meantime, we're going to have to resist the urge to throttle the idiots in our lives.
