Eat at Coop's on Decatur -- they're great for local cuisine. Or the Parkway Bakery and Tavern for po'boys. (Best in the city. Seriously.) Don't go to the cemeteries without either several people or a tour group... they're a popular place for muggings of the solo.

Thanks for the reply! I'm particularly looking for anything really. I'd been saying for YEARS I'm gonna go go New Orleans one of these days, and now that I'm going I'm lik, "so what do you do there?" I think our current activity list is: WWII museum Oak Alley/Plantation tour
I have no firsthand experience with these.cheetahmasterDecember 5 2012, 20:44:55 UTC
My source finally got back to me:
"That Tiki Zipline place was pretty swell. French Quarter is a must - but the locals all listen to music on Frenchman Street. If they like graveyards, Metairie is lousy with them. Oh, and the plantations are brilliant - Oak Alley was really gorgeous."
