And if the references blew your mind, be prepared for SO MUCH more and some possible cross-overs.

*Guh* The mix of serious RL issues- Kaldur and his father, his crush on Tula, swim meets and Roy's whole fucking life- and gaming is awesome. Have you read the The Guild comic book? It's an awesome read, for the same reason. I loved it, and I love this. :3 Can't wait for mooooore!

No, I'm not familiar with The Guild. (Doesn't have a comic book store in her small town). What's it about?

The Guild is a webshow about a WoW guild, and their interactions in and out of character. It has some gamer clichés- the stay-at-home mom, the creepy-nerd, the teenage-douche, etc, and looks at them all from a human point of view. Also, it's hilarious, and worth watching. They made a comic book spinoff to show the origin of their guild, how the main character has trouble connecting with people IRL and found that this gaming group gave her the confidence to stand up for herself, and made her happy, and gave her the human interaction she needed so badly. It's beautiful, and fun, and SO nerdy.

I recommend you check out the show (seriously, google "The Guild" and you'll probably find it) and if you like it, you can probably get the comic book at a library, or download a cbr file of it. :3 It's really awesome.

Pff, this is awesome! lol It's so much like their real lives and that somehow makes it hilarious to me lol
Now I'm wondering when the "sidekicks" will meet up... XD

(Incidentally, were you thinking sp/grammar type beta-ing, or substantive type beta-ing? No problem either way, it's just good to know in advance.)

Both, probably. I'm bad at proof reading the things I write and sometimes I just don't care (like I'll leave the computer for a while after writing in the past tense and then come back to write in the present tense, making the story a different tone).
Also, it would be alright to tell me if the dialogue and reasoning in-universe is faulty. (Bad habit: writing by the seat of my pants)
