Ray Park's martial arts moves almost make you not notice that the FX budget has been cut back considerably.

Ray Park has the ability to make just about anything somewhat watchable.

Thanks for that opening picture. I haven't spontaneously burst out in laughter like that in a while. Yip!

"and save planet Vulcan while they're at it..." XD

I'm getting a System Maintenance page, when I try to look at FFN... I assume it's your server and not you, but you might want to make your computer skill checks anyways :)

Personally I would have put one of the Tom Baker stories first, and there are some great stories from the black&white era that have been overlooked, but I have to agree that The Caves Of Androzani is one of the best Doctor Who stories ever. While some of the newer stories listed are pretty good, I think the new series is over-represented in that top ten.

As for Heroes... it hasn't started down here, it hasn't even been advertised as coming soon, and quite frankly I'm considering waiting until the series has been cancelled and picking up the DVD sets when they're on discount special. The usual place I go to for reviews - http://www.herosite.net/blogs (warning: lengthy and hilariously accurate) - does a good enough job of inoculating me against the show's failings.

"Caves of Androzani" always turns up in these polls because of its darker, more serious approach. Peter Davison said that story, in particular, made him rethink his decision to leave, but of course it was too late by then. For me, the presence of Peri Brown automatically knocks it down a few slots. Unfortunately, while Davison is my favorite Doctor, the actual stories themselves aren't as strong as they could be. For great individual stories, I go with "City of Death" (the better-known Douglas Adams story), "Horror of Fang Rock," "Pyramids of Mars," or "Masque of Mandragora."
