The eye-chart tv-thing is from Norway (neighbour to Sweden)

I figured I had a decent shot at a guess and went by the domain suffix and a translation of the word for "news" that was visible.

I can also blame my mad American geography skills.

Oooh... Good ol' Eastman. I LOVED the original TMNT. I was excited when they first came to television as a kid. My folks later found me in my bedroom, growling like some feral beast ( ... )

See I never got to read the comic version but I had heard stuff. They actually appeared briefly on the newest TMNT (prepare to groan) the one on 4Kids (insert disappointed groans here). Can't remember the plot to save my life but they also had the '80's version along with them. And I recall both the oldest and the newest basically mocking it that their fights were silly and their gadgets ridiculous.

It was worth the mockery to laugh at that show and remember fondly the sheer insanity of the show. But at least I could watch that and enjoy it as opposed to when I re-watched "Dark Crystal" and "Labyrinth".

I only saw selections of the comic when the show came out in fanzines. Comics were hard enough to come by in my small home town, let alone black-and-white indie comics. I was so crushed when I couldn't find any more "Myth Adventures" past issue #2.

I find the biggest problems I have with both Dark Crystal and Labyrinth are the beginnings. Dark Crystal pretty much gives away the whole plot (gotta love prophecies), and Labyrinth just made me think Sarah was off her rocker and/or spoiled. Once Jareth shows up, things improve drastically. One thing at the end that's always bugged me was the final "pop" effect on the crystal sphere. I can't believe they used what looked cheaper than an arcade machine being unplugged. I would've thought a high-fps film of a bubble popping would've been much cooler.

I really want to steal the new year's resolution idea. Except mine would be 1600 x 900.

I figure as long as technology keeps improving/getting cheaper, we'll never have the same resolution. :)

I suppose eventually we'll have a "depth" resolution, too...

"I'm also amazed I've lived this long and never knew a college football team was called the Ducks."

The University of Oregon is the Ducks, and they have a dispensation to use a Donald Duck mascot since it was drawn before people got so uptight about copyright. Oregon State University-less than 60 miles away-is the big in-state rival, and their mascot is the Beavers. Their annual game is called The Civil War and the trophy is a platypus.

Or take Stanford. Their official mascot is the Cardinal. Not the bird, and not the Catholic high-ranking priest, but the color Cardinal. And their mascot costume is a tree.

How about the University of California, Santa Cruz? Their mascot is the Banana Slug.

P.S. If you ever get the option to watch a Ducks game, do so. Against high-ranked opponents they are pretty good; against lesser teams it's something extraordinary. I don't tend to watch football and even I am fascinated because in general, it takes them about two minutes to make a score. They're crazy fast and nobody has yet replicated their

Nothing more unintentionally amusing than a Gamecock (South Carolina) versus Beavers game.

I knew I should've asked around or tried to run it through a better translator. Thanks!
