I have my great grandmother's recipie for aspic, thanks to my mother's recipie book, as well as a few other lovely delights of the ages. I'm actually quiet fond of the fruitcake recipie, which has a rock-hard crust to seal it up while you let it sit in the cupboard for at least a month. Seriously, the crust can stop small-arms fire. Good, though.
I thought I was the only person to ever have a good fruit cake experience. my grandma would put slices in the toaster and serve it for breakfast when I was little, and I could never understand why everyone thought fruit cake was terrible.
I hear homemade fruitcake can be awesome. I think the bad rep comes from the mass-produced stuff that some feel obligated to buy at the holidays. It'd be the same for apple pie if all we ever got were the ones from McDonald's, perhaps.
The Woman In Black is actually a remake of something I saw on A&E ages and ages ago, and lives in my memory as one of the best ghost/suspense stories ever, because they used NO special effects in editing, every last trick they used was a practical effect. Our Dan's character is a humble everyman, a lawyer who's sent to set the houses affairs in order, and I think he's do a bang up job with the part. He may or may not shed Harry Potter typecasting, but this will go a long way towards helping him do so.

And eventually, they can do a "Lady in Black meets the Lady in White" sequel. :)
