I prefer my foam weapons to be a little "meatier".

Are those the "original" foam ones? I only saw them once at GAMA, and there were plans to make and sell those, but they turned out to be too expensive.

The hammer was an amazing attention-getter. You could make a most satisfying "boom" if you brought it down on the floor. :)

As far as I know those are the original weapons somewhere in the offices of Steve Jackson Games. I think the "mascot" has used the hammer and/or chainsaw around various conventions. I would be *SO* tempted to pick up a set of these if they ever made them available!

I've seen these in Target & Wal-Mart for a while now. A few swords, a mace, a battle axe. I also think they got a Thor license. Now if they would just do a crossbow or a hand crossbow and some armor...

I was trying to think of a way to "mark" your opponent. Something involving velcro might work, or if they want to get really technical, some kind of electronic pressure detector, like the ultra-fancy fencing setups.

Or perhaps the honor system might work, too.

Honor system?!?!?!?

I know too many gamers who would abuse it. 8-)

On the Nerf Melee...actually, those have been out for a while now, to the point that K-Mart and TRU actually has them on sale/clearance prices. The axe and mace seem to be all over the place, TRU had some of the smaller one-handed swords...they had a *nice* 2-hander (bastard-sword sized, at least for me, hyooge for a kid), but someone had torn off the tip so I didn't bother getting it. Rather annoying, as these thing look great for boffer-weapons.

That's not a flaw; that's "battle damage!" :)

*snirk* Not when it's that way in the store before it's ever been used in battle. And unfortunately, they were torn off to an extent that the plastic core was exposed, so they couldn't be *used* for battle safely.

I won't lie, I am very, very disappointed I don't get to see you this year at ECCC. But, I do want you to recuperate properly. Is there any way I can special order some signed comics and sketches to make up for it? Feel better soon.

Most certainly! Just request whatever you want in the "note for seller" box or whatever it's called.
