If there's a Lowe's in your area, they also carry root killers. Though you could probably get a start with any acidic drain cleaner -- the place I lived 2 moves ago had a lot of trouble with roots in the sewer line until I started doing a lot of glass etching and rinsing the etching cream down the floor drain.

Yeah, I was using copper sulfate (under the brand "ROOT KILL," I think) which seemed to do the trick. I stopped because I thought I'd killed off the part of the tree causing the damage; the tree I think is over the sewer line turned half-gray and started to list to port a bit.

Apparently it's back and looking for vengeance.

I've been quoting that Blue Man Group bit for five years (we saw it on our honeymoon)

Don't be surprised if Josh decides that the decorations need to come off the tree and then back on again... Over and over. :) (After taste-testing the ornaments, of course.)

We plan on him "helping" a lot, and we'll have to decide which ornaments will be potential sacrifices to his education. :)

I consider Stevie Nicks' "Blue Lamp" a de facto Christmas song. It's on the soundtrack to the first Heavy Metal movie. And then there's Eric Clapton's "Holy Mother"...
