Here we go again…

What is it with Fox and Whedon? They obviously haven't completely different ideas what makes compelling television-Whedon being right. Why do they even try to work together? Do they have a contract that requires Whedon to develop n number of shows for Fox?
On the plus side, the continual frustration Whedon must suffer dealing with Fox is pretty much guaranteed to drive him more to alternate production and distribution models. Having someone of his stature involved in alternate media is a good thing. Eventually clever people will work out ways creators can be well paid for delivering a wide range of shows that appeal to the diverse minorities that compose the true majority. What television executives will do when advertisers are no longer willing to give them ridiculous sums of money to pedal their wares during Real Wrestling Housewives, i don't know. Don't care, either.

I wonder if there's a phenomenon where we'll buy more DvD sets of canceled shows than we will of long-run successful shows?
I mean, I love "Stargate," but I can't see buying a dozen seasons of anything and having the time to watch it all. But I'll pop my "Firefly" DvDs in occasionally, no question.
Hmm... I appear to have figured out why my favorite shows get canned.
Oh god.. I remember Micronauts.. My child therapist had them in his office. He was always amazed by the insanely awesome things I would build with them, and I think he probably played with them at the end of the day, making appropriate swooshing noises...
You don't get toys from KIDS, silly! You can just buy them from the toy store! Did you just have a kid in hopes that the toy fairy would show up, like the tooth fairy? And if so... are you keeping the new squab under your pillow? Cuz I'm not sure if that's how it works...
I feel the odd one out. I never had micronaut toys/comics. When I first read the news I was all excited thinking he was making an entirely different micronauts...
Wasn't there some Joss Whedon fans that set up a "bring dollhouse back" campaign even before the first episode aired? I bet they feel really smug now :-)
