And now I just want to sleep!

First of all, a massive congratulations to all my friends in the United States for staving off the threat of a Republican president for 4 more years. I have to admit, I was getting more than a little nervous myself at how close it all seemed to be, so the fairly decisive trouncing Romney got was rather nice to wake up to ( Read more... )

I really wish I had been to Whitby when I was younger, I couldn't deal with the crowds nowadays.

It was a lot busier than usual last weekend, possibly because it coincided with the school half term.
It would probably be far less busy in the 50 weeks a year that aren't the goth weekend!

Would it be worth visiting any other time?

Well, Yorkshire's lovely and Whitby itself is very pretty. The abbey ruins are fab too, and all in all I think it would probably make for a very relaxing break by the seaside without any nasty busy beaches.

Mind you, it's a bit of a pain to get to from London, I think, especially on the train :/

Voting against Romney was a noble cause. He should have lived in the middle ages.

Edit: No, his mother should have had a headache that time.

I've just now heard that Obama beat Romney by a whole 126 electoral college votes. And to think, people were saying it was going to be close!

(There are a few people whose mother should have had a headache that time :/).

Glad to hear you had a good time - I wasn't sure the last day or two, as you were seeming a bit quieter than usual.

Are you tempted for April at all? The three of us got talking about it on the train back, as the Friday lineup looks good, and I'm half thinking about booking something in the next week or three, just so as to get somewhere nearer town this time...

I had a fab time!
I didn't realise I was being quieter than usual. It wasn't intentional :)

It's a nice idea, but I'm not entirely sure the budget will stand Whitby as well as the group holiday again next year :/

I'm glad you had a good time in Whitby, despite the less positive parts of the trip! :) I don't think I've ever been when it's been really busy, and I'm glad, because I can imagine that being pretty frustrating. REALLY glad to hear you're writing again, too! That's brilliant, congratulations. :D

I'm sorry it's taking me so long to reply to your email, I'll get on with that soon!! ♥

Hey :)
I was thinking of you today. I was thinking about dropping you a little email to see how you were, so it's good to hear from you.

Whitby's always lovely, despite the busy-ness and occasional dodgy band :D. I'd very much like to see it outside of the goth weekend (I never have). It would probably feel completely different, and a lot more relaxed.

Thank you! It feels really good to be writing again, although it's still really hard. I'm probably 1 or 2 thousand words from the end of the chapter but it's going to take a few more weeks, I think. It's not flowing very well and it feels rather bitty. But I can actually see an end to it now, and that helps with the motivation.

I'll look forward to getting your email whenever you're able. There's no rush :)
I hope you're well and that things are good with you ♥

I've never actually been during the goth weekend! I've been in April and in December, I think, and it seemed quite relaxed and quiet, yeah. I remember it feeling quite cosy, which I suspect it didn't when you were there!!

Having an end in sight definitely helps! I'm really happy you're managing to continue it, and I'm here if you need to discuss any problems you're having with it or anything. :)

I'm doing okay! I don't really have much news, but yeah, we should catch up soon. :)

It actually does feel surprisingly cosy, I guess, even when it's absolutely heaving with people, but it would be much more so were it a lot more quiet.
I should think it would be especially lovely in the spring, but December would be a little bleak, I'd imagine :)

I made the same mistake as Lucy as far as the story went: I only thought as far as the first kiss and then had no idea what to do next. I think I've cracked it now though. We'll see. I'll definitely take you up on that offer - I foresee my next email containing some agonising over potential plot details!

I'm glad you're doing okay <3
I always love hearing from you, even when you don't have much news :)

It's a huge relief. I was so happy when I woke up and checked the results :)

I wrote another 200 words today! Go me :D
(God, I'm so slow, it's painful :/).

I wondered who Derek Hale was this morning (clearly I need to watch Teenwolf!) until I figured out it was you. It's always nice to see more people over at Dreamwidth. I do rather like it there :)

Oh, by the way, I don't think I ever thanked you for the little Pumpkin Cookie LJ gift. So thank you! It's so cute :D

I hope you're well and are having fun!
