Kind of a random picture to start off with, but then I think this post may turn out to be made up of kind of random things, so whatever. I've been on Tumblr for about a month and nothing has changed my initial impression that it's largely a whole array of very pretty (and sometimes very pervy) pictures. Isn't Shan's vid amazing? I got so weepy when I was watching it. It made me feel so nostalgic :(. So, yeah, I can totally empathise with your emo. And I tend towards the wallowing too. Which is fine. Wallow away! Whatever it takes, yeah :)

Although I guess if I had to describe it, I'd say it's pretty much a love letter to television in general and to sitcoms in particular. There are multi-episode storylines and lots of continuity in the form of callbacks, but mostly each episode is concerned with being the funniest little piece of television that it can be.
The show it reminds me most of is probably Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is a weird comparison, but it shares the willingness to occasionally completely change its format for an episode and fully commit to it. It hasn't done a musical yet, sadly, but it does have a documentary episode, a western, a flashback, a war movie, a mafia movie, etc.

I have to say, I'm really very intrigued! Rather annoyingly, it doesn't seem to be out here, either on TV or DVD, but Amazon has it on Region 1 for not very much. I'm seriously tempted to check it out :)

I really should post more, but it takes me so long! I was writing this post for about 3 or 4 hours yesterday which, given that it's not very long, is just silly!
