It's so nice to stumble upon people who still actively use livejournal, even though I found you on tumblr! Your manips are amazing and I'm trying to resist the urge to reblog ALL your Trek art. I'd seen your name around LJ before so when I was looking up manip artists, it felt familiar to me. I've been into the whole photo manip thing since 2004 due to the LOTR fandom but I've been thinking of taking the plunge.

Any advice? I can see from the commentary of your other art (very helpful and informative btw!) that (obviously) having the best quality pics and bases seem to be key but you also seem to try to fix the lighting on the manipulated parts? Takes a bit of time and skill but any knowledge you're willing to give is wonderful!

You definitely have a new follower in me. :D

Oh, hey! Livejournal is still my favorite, because it was the best for the fandom: gave visibility, allowed you to find everything in the same place (groups ç_ç) instead of arts and works be scattered everywhere, and encouraged comments, something Tumblr sadly lacks. But the fandom is all there by now, so... :( I don't even know why I keep LJ updated but yes, I will still be active here ( ... )

Livejournal is still my favorite too. But with how deeply entrenched fandom is in Tumblr now, it's hard not to use it because that's the only way to participate now. It makes me sad. Yeah, there's dreamwidth and all but usually people who use that are RPing communities, which have managed to thrive there, on tumblr, and elsewhere. (I don't really RP but my sister has been doing so for a very long time so it's been interesting to see how things change and things stay the same in that part of fandom life.) Livejournal was more organized and easier to use than tumblr, at least in my experience. Livejournal actively remembers your tags, uses pinned posts to make important things stand out, allows for filtering in the friends list and posts (it is HARD to go through the following feed on tumblr without some external help, horrible) and yes, commenting is so much better on livejournal as well. If you wanted to discuss things, it could more organized than all these reblogged posts ( ... )

Ah yes, it's impossible to follow people on Tumblr. Either you have nothing do to in life, of you'll likely miss many awesome posts because the dash is just too cluttered ( ... )
