Wow, this was a lot of fun. Nice commentary on how legends start and how strange bits of stories become the seeds of tall tales.

Thank you very much. I was actually researching some Urban Legends and accidentally ran across one called "The Slender Man" which not only had a bizarre origin story but scared the living daylights out of me.

Which is neither here nor there other than it made me want to write this fic.
