The first season of Unreal closed with something like that chess players reveal. Not that it had been a whodunnit, but there was a similarly casual IDing of someone's real killer.

the owls are not what they seem.

once a term of art or two are settled, the next question is what to call one of these in which the revelatorily retrospective piece doesn't arrive for twenty five years. or in which the secret ending is itself revealed as a false ending once an additional secreted ending becomes revealed.

it all cannot be said now.
