Borges fetishism news: snagged discarded review copies of the two new poetry collections by mail from Housing Works for $15 total. Looks like all five volumes of this year's Penguin relaunch are edited by Suzanne Jill Levine, the weirdest and presumably least reliable of the three translators of the otherwise totally great Selected Non-Fictions ( Read more... )

That Non-Fictions book is so great. For me like life-changing level of great. I like his poems in Spanish. In English... eh... I'd rather read a great English poet.

The poems need selecting most of all, but some are wonderful. His famous repetitiveness is most keenly felt in his verse, though; and he wrote a lot of mediocre mid-career sonnets. Which I'll be reading for the umpteenth time tomorrow...
