The water. It's... moving. [And weirding Cinna out on a level he's not familiar with.]

Yeah, it was--it turned on again? I knew I shouldn't have taken the tape off.

[Have a pause as he turns around and tries moving the water around again.]

Yeah. Me too.

[Percy Jackson walks out of the sea.

In fact, he's been there for hours, not noticing the passage of time as he usually does when he's underwater. The city was an island, apparently. What Percy had been trying to figure out was how far they would let him go. It was only a need for food that brought him back.

He walks out of the sea, perfectly dry - emerging like some apparition in an old movie, not expecting anyone to be on what had been an abandoned beach hours ago. It was getting cold, after all.]

[Really, there are two forces at work on Finnick today, one environmental and one psychological. He's never liked the cold, and this is hardly the sort of weather conducive to lighthearted playing at the beach. But the ocean has always been his answer when he's needed time to relax and to think, and at long last, the urge to be close to the waves has beaten out his distaste for the chill in the air.

Also, it's not exactly easy to work off aggression with a trident in a crowded city area.

He's busy investigating his newfound waterbending powers when Percy emerges, toying with the ability to make the waves rock back and forth at his command--but he doesn't miss the sight of a kid walking straight out of the ocean, and he doesn't bother to hide the rise of his eyebrows at the fact that he doesn't seem to have been touched by the waves at all.]

[Why would you be on a beach in cold, snowy weather anyways? The sand is half-frozen. Percy himself is wearing a hoodie under the water. It makes him a little less streamlined but he manipulates the currents to make up for lost speed.

What he hasn't done was check the network - at least, not yet - and so he's busy trying to figure out an explanation that sounds halfway plausible as to why he just walked out of the ocean (and isn't 'My dad's the sea god'). Though half of him is wondering if he can't somehow drench himself and pretend -]

Is that a trident?

[His ADHD breaks his line of thought at the sight of the object.]

That's really cool.

[If it's possible for Finnick's eyebrows to rise further, they promptly do.]

First person I've met to recognize one on sight.

[And not call it a giant fork. Fortunately for Percy, Finnick likes talking about his favorite weapon. Unfortunately for Percy, just because he's letting the subject change without comment doesn't mean he's forgotten the oddity of Percy's current appearance.]

You know how to use one?

[He should have left work earlier but he's stubborn and enjoys money too much. After ducking out better late than never, Xander brings his takeout lunch to the empty beach. Or, because of the weather today, the beach should be empty. But it's not. He spots Finnick from down the way and watches as the waves follow his movements. Looks like elemental manipulation is some kind of a thing today. He makes his way towards him and when he's close enough, he waves.]

[Waves appear to be something of a trend today, don't they? Finnick's about as bundled up as a person can get and still have free range of motion in all limbs, but the exercise has done good work at keeping him warm, so the chill in the air isn't bothering him at the moment.

He gives the water another pull with his hands, then pushes it back and tries to will it to let go--however that works--before waving back at Xander himself.]

I see the City has made you heir to a watery throne. [He looks out into the ocean, watching the waves crash on their own now. Xander sets his bag in the sand. After, he sticks his hands in his pockets and shivers.] I didn't really think this through.

I don't get it. I move and it...follows. [He stares at his hand, like he's looking for the means that let him manipulate the waves.] Try not to get wet. It's freezing enough out here as it is.

God of the Sea in Ancient Roman mythology.

In other words, a joke.

I never much liked the metal ones, anyway. They mess up my hair.
