Chapter 6: In Which We Are Quite Surprised And More Than Slightly Pissed Off

Jun 01, 2008 16:38

My, my, my... What a strange day it has been - and it is still far from being at its end. I went to see the Baby's father (it is his birthday today) at his place for a cup of tea and such. We were supposed to have a civilised conversation on how we are going to handle this little situation of ours, exactly. Well, we ended up talking about my ( Read more... )

Amen to that. Let's kick his sorry butt to Azkaban and back! (Nah, seriously, I am quite calm now. He explained his point later on, and I sort of understand him. Not completely but... sort of.)

And thank you. I rather love it, too. :>

As I probably have mentioned before, quitting your job now is really a stupid idea. You are going to be a single mother who will be supporting your child for about a year, without working. In today's world, quitting now when the baby is due in October is not good. You'd run out of finances sooner than you'd think and then have to start working again much sooner than you had planned on.

You're perfectly fine, when you don't work 60+ hours a week, on top of your studies, and whatever else might happen.

See, I don't know what Mr. Daddy's argument was, but it is quite normal for him to be worried. I mean, it is his child too, but at the same time, he should realize that keeping your job for as long as you can is ideal. I mean, come on, it is your only source of income. I honestly have no idea why he can't seem to see that side of it.

Then again, it might be me that is too practical. I think too much of the material and not the maternal needs. *shrugs* I dunno, so I'll shut up now, this comment is getting way too long.

... Damn, I had a killer reply for you, and then LJ-bugger deleted it. >_<

Anyway, yeah, you have mentioned it, and I full-heartedly agree with you. I think the main thing behind Mr. Daddy saying what he did is the age gap and/or cultural differences, really. He would have wanted me to stay home so that he can support us (financially). (Plus I am going to get some money from the state in every case.) I think you know enough about the Finnish way of thinking to know how we feel about taking money from others, eh?

But hey, long comments are goooood. So thanks, dear. :)

P.S. I have cut down my working hours. It's only 55 hours a week nowadays. ;)
