Does anyone know what "voting" is?

Oh! And be sure not to overindulge on those candies that have shown up. They may taste nice, but eating too much at once will make you sick and all the sugar in them can cause cavities if you aren't careful. So be extra-careful about brushing your teeth this week.

prim and proper, halloween, hooray for monarchy, psa, fussbudget, inconspicuous little girl

It's a process where the populace gets together and decides who they want as a leader. Whoever has the most support is placed in charge. I gather democracy hasn't made much progress where you are from?

No, most places are ruled by a king, or by a council of elders. I've never heard of somewhere where you pick your own leaders.

In my world, it used to be like that. But them people gradually demanded more say in how their countries were run. Are you asking because of the 'Vote Doe' on the flyer?

Really? That's very interesting--I've never heard of anything like that until I did see it on the flyer.

I very much doubt that there's going to be any actual choice in the voting here, though.

ATTENTION EVERYBODY

That's totally true!

You should listen to my sister and make sure that you don't eat any of the candy! Rather, you should toss it in the Mayfield-approved disposal area, 1448 Mitchell Road! Remember, that's the officially sanctioned Mayfield-approved disposal area, 1448 Mitchell Road! Just ring the doorbell and set down your basket! The officially sanctioned approved workers will dispose of this hazardous material free of charge, just for you!

PALOM!! Don't you dare!

To anybody who heard that, DON'T listen to him please. It's just a ploy so he can act like a pig and get himself sick on the stuff.

NO. Didn't you hear the words OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED and APPROVED?! I'm sure the authorities would love my helpfulness!

Palom, NOBODY is going to believe something like that! There are no authorities sanctioning anything of the kind!

[Sound of a click because she's going to go over to Palom's house to give him a whack on the head.]

Has anybody tried the candy that appeared in the houses?

I don't know if they have yet. It wouldn't surprise me if it was the same as the milk and the vaccines.

[considering pause.]

I should try a piece. I have a spell that heals poison.

If you do, make sure someone else is around too.

I should just destroy the candy regardless.

I will. And that's a good idea... I wonder, though. If they poisoned the candy it's probably random, like the other poisons they've exposed us too.

Voting tends to insinuate that there's another candidate running, which I doubt is actually going to happen.

So he can call a vote with only his name on the ballot? Well, that's silly to ask, of course he could.

Candy is nice, in moderation.
