OH GOD THANK YOU I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!

I mean, I completely agree. I hadn't heard about the teeneager part, but not surprised. BUT WHY? They already have freaking Hannah Montana. And yeah, I don't care that John Chu has done commercials and music videos, he's still not the right guy.

If it sucks (and I think it will) I'm just going to refuse to acknowledge it. Because I have an eight year old who thinks Jem is awesome the way she IS.

I'm really anti-live action movies for any of the 80s properties, really. I'd rather have a lush, well-done animated feature length movie, like DCs Wonder Woman.

Mind if I link to this in my journal?

They just keep on pooing all over my childhood. The thing about 80's movies and cartoons is that they were of their time and had a certain magic about them which is what we loved about them, and they just cannot recreate that. I mean, why don't they just make up a movie about a teenager starting up her own band? Why does it have to be linked to Jem? especially when they want to change so much??

Also not looking forward to a Ghosbusters 3 or a Goonies 2.

See, I think a new "Goonies" movie could work if it were a new generation of kids or the kids of the ones in the original. And I think they've waited too long for a new "Ghostbusters."

There's a theory at one of the Jem fansites that the reason they're pushing forward with a movie now is because Mattel announced plans for a live-action "Barbie" movie. And the sad thing is, I'd rather see THAT than a live-action "Jem" movie.

I feel the same way. Not bothered what they do with Barbie but please just leave Jem alone.
